December 19, 1972 – The Apollo lunar-landing program ends when the last three astronauts to travel to the moon splash down safely in the Pacific Ocean. Apollo 17  had lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, 10 days before.

Ida Keeling is an American track and field athlete. In 2014, at 99 years of age, Keeling set the world record for the 100-meter dash at the 2014 Gay Games in her age group.
